Public’s help needed to locate suspect in hit-&-run that critically injured boy | By Ozaukee County Sheriff

October 3, 2026 – Town of Grafton, Wi – Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from the public in locating 37-year-old DAVID J. SITAR, the suspect in a hit-and-run crash that left an 11-year-old boy hospitalized and in critical condition.

The crash occurred on Friday, October 2, 2026, at approximately 6:36 p.m. in the 1500 block of N. Port Washington Road in the Town of Grafton. SITAR is suspected of driving a white 2013 Ford Econoline work van that struck the boy, who was riding a bicycle, as the van exited the residential area. SITAR left the scene shortly after the crash.

SITAR is described as 37-years-old, male, white, approximately 6 feet tall, and 180 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

The van has been located and recovered, but SITAR’s whereabouts remain unknown. Investigators believe he may be in the Kenosha area and may be relying on family, friends, or rideshare services for transportation.

SITAR has active felony warrants through the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office for First-Degree Reckless Endangering Safety, Hit and Run Causing Injury, and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a License Causing Great Bodily Harm. SITAR also has an active warrant through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, Probation and Parole.

We urge anyone who has seen SITAR, provided him transportation, or knows his current whereabouts to contact the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office at 262-284-7172. Please reference case number 26-22307. Rideshare drivers and others who may have recently transported him are encouraged to report any information that could help investigators locate him.
