Ray Klemp, 71, Big Cedar Lake



    Raymond A. Klemp “Ray” age 71 went to be with his Lord unexpectedly with his family by his side, Sunday evening November 6, 2016 at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee.

    He was born July 1, 1945 to Raymond E. and Margaret H.  (nee Opper) Klemp. He spent his life on the water of Big Cedar Lake. In March of 1967 he married the love of his life, Dottie Dietenberger. They traveled to Thailand while he gladly served his country during the Vietnam War. Following 3 years of military service he became the owner of United Vending service and spent most of his career in that capacity. He was the proud father of 3 daughters, Kristin (Dave), Angie (Kris), and Sarah (A.J.). He was blessed with 8 precious grandchildren: Britney, Olivia, Vanessa, Myles, Kennedy, Simon, Pieper, and Damiyan.

    Ray was known for his ability to light up the room in smiles and his sense of humor. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends while sailing on big Cedar Lake and Lake Michigan, getting together with “Card Club”, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling and being a snowbird in Florida. He was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church, Cedar Lake Yacht Club and Milwaukee Community Sailing Center.

    He is survived by his loving wife, Dottie; 3 children, Kristin (Dave) Pratt, Angie (Kris) Wetor, Sarah (A.J. Walter) Vernatter; 8 grandchildren; his sister, Judy (Jim) Kannenberg; brother-in-law, Harold Dietenberger; and a sister-in-law, Rita Friess. Ray is further survived by many other loved relatives and friends.

    He is preceded in death by his son, Jason; parents, Raymond E. and Margaret H. Klemp; and parents-in-law, Sebastian and Genevieve (nee Langenecker) Dietenberger.

    Mass of Resurrection for Raymond will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 6 p.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church (264 State St., Hartford, WI 53027) with Fr. David LaPlante officiating. A Celebration of Ray’s life will be held from 3:30-5:45p.m. on Friday within the Gathering Place at the church.

    Interment in Union Cemetery, Slinger.
