Obituary | Robert E. Coldewe Jr., 85, of West Bend, WI

January 8, 2025 – West Bend, WI – Robert E. Coldewe Jr., 85, of West Bend died peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at The Fields in West Bend, WI.

He was born May 20, 1939 in Milwaukee to Robert and Veronica (nee Bender) Coldewe. On May 28, 1966 he was united in marriage to Sandra Christopher at St. John’s Church in Lannon. Sandra preceded him in death on March 26, 2018.

Bob enjoyed bowling and golfing and active in leagues for both sports. He was also an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. One of Bob’s many talents was his ability to speed read and he often read books in a day or two.

Robert was a member of the S/Sgt. Henry F. Gumm Post 486 American Legion in Jackson.

Bob is survived by his 2 sons: William (Gretta) Coldewe of West Bend and Curtis Coldewe of Belgium, WI, 3 grandchildren: Ashley (Robert) Hughes, Brandon Coldewe and Shannon McCluskey and 1 great-granddaughter Hailie Hughes. He is further survived by his brother Ronald (June) Coldewe of Florida, his brother-in-law Dennis Christopher of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Veronica Coldewe, his wife Sandra Coldewe, 2 sons: Dale and David in their youth and his 2 sisters: Kathleen (Marty) Arndt and Shirley -(Robert) Kreutzer.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend with military honors following. The family will greet visitors from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.  Inurnment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grafton.
