Germantown, WI – Robert “Bob” W. Johanning Sr., age 85 of Germantown passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at the Kathy Hospice in West Bend.
Bob is the beloved husband of the late Bonnie Fay (Nee Lacy). Loving dad of Linda (Dale) Boedeker, Robert Jr. “Bobby” (Vanessa), Kerry Ann (Jeff) Luczak, and Jane (Russ) Runge. Proud grandpa of Jeffrey (Nikki) Luczak, Nicole (Josh) Hall, Will Johanning, Mike (Anna) Boedeker, Wes (Molly) Luczak, Alicia (Patrick) Frye, Russell Runge, Cheri (Josh) Hennes, and Steven (Allie Schmitz) Runge. Adoring great-grandpa of Jeffrey, Autumn, Annabelle, Ava, Ryker, Lucy, Penelope, Cooper, and Elle.
Bob was a veteran of the United States Army where he proudly served his country as a Missile Technician, then moved to Milwaukee, where he met his wife. During his career, he worked for several companies in manufacturing including Allis Chalmers, and finally retired from Johanning Machining and Welding where he worked side by side with his son for 13 years.
In his later years, he enjoyed simply being a greeter at Walmart, where he had an opportunity to greet guests and socialize. An absolute lover of people, he enjoyed those connections and, most of all, spending time with his family.
A visitation will take place at Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford, Wisconsin on Sunday, October 31, 2021, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Interment to follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Lannon, Wisconsin.
