July 16, 2019 – Saukville, WI – The Saukville Fire Department would like to thank the residents of Saukville for allowing us to purchase a new Mercury Zodiac (358). This Mercury Zodiac will help us on river rescues and also be used for mutual aid.
The Mercury Zodiac was purchased from Cedar Lake Sales and Service, 3820 Hwy. 33 West, West Bend.
Editor’s note: The Mercury Zodiac is an inflatable boat. According to the Department of Homeland Security, this type of boat “is essential for water search and rescue (SAR) and is used to transport SAR teams, their equipment, and victims.
SAR operations in swift water require the safest transportation possible in this extreme environment.”
