Semi driver arrested for OWI in West Bend | By West Bend Police

October 1, 2019 – West Bend, WI – Five OWI arrests by West Bend Police between September 23, 2019 and September 29, 2019.

OWI/HIT AND RUN/OPEN INTOXICANTS IN VEHICLE
West Paradise Drive at US Hwy 45
On Monday September 23, 2019, at 5:07 PM, several citizens reported a driver of a semi-tractor trailer appeared to be impaired and struck a traffic signal at W. Paradise Dr. and the northbound on ramp to US Hwy 45, and continued travelling northbound. West Bend Officers located the vehicle and identified the male driver, 56, from Woodstock, Georgia. The man and had an open container of alcohol in the cab of his truck was intoxicated. The man was arrested for OWI, Open Intoxicants in a Vehicle and Hit and Run.


OWI CAUSING INJURY/VEHICLE CRASH/UNDERAGE CONSUMPTION ALCOHOL/POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA/BAILJUMPING
1300 Block of Lee Avenue
On Friday, September 29, 2019 at 9:30 PM, a citizen called West Bend Police to report a vehicle crash in the 1300 Block of Lee Ave. The investigating officer determined that the driver, a 21 year old female, had been drinking and was speeding when approaching a curve and lost control of the vehicle. A 21 year old male passenger suffered a leg injury from the crash. The female driver failed standardized field sobriety tests, provided a PBT sample of .108 and was arrested for OWI Causing Injury and Driving Too Fast for Conditions. Officers also identified a 19 year old male passenger in the vehicle who had been drinking alcohol and was in possession of Marijuana. Officers arrested that passenger for Underage Consumption of Alcohol, Possession of Marijuana and Bailjumping, as he was out on bail for an open criminal case in Washington County.

Oakfield Drive and Schmidt Road.
On Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 2:52 AM, a West Bend Officer stopped a vehicle for erratic driving. The officer identified the driver as a 41-year-old man. The officer observed signs the driver was impaired. He failed standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for OWI.

West Washington Street. at Villa Park Drive.
On Sunday, September 29, 2019 at 2:22 AM, a West Bend Officer stopped a vehicle for erratic driving. The officer identified the driver as a 22-year-old man. The officer observed signs the driver was impaired. He failed standardized field sobriety tests, provided a PBT sample of .172 and was arrested for OWI.


OWI/POSSESSION OF NARCOTIC DRUGS
Wildwood Road at Park Avenue
On Sunday, September 29, 2019 at 9:27 p.m. a citizen reported a female was intoxicated and leaving her residence driving a vehicle. A West Bend Officer located the vehicle and identified the driver as a 46-year-old woman who showed signs of intoxication. The driver failed standardized field sobriety tests, provided a PBT sample of .179 and was arrested for OWI. The woman was in possession of Fentanyl and was arrested for Possession of a Narcotic Drugs.
