8 Fire Departments respond to Shed fire Saturday, January 2 in Jackson | By Jackson Fire Department

January 3, 2021 – Township of Jackson, WI – On January 2, 2021 at 11:02 a.m. the Jackson Fire Department was dispatched to a shed fire in the 1800 block of Western Avenue in the Township of Jackson.

Heavy smoke and fire was reported by first arriving unit. Promptly updated the incident to Working Still on Box Card 12-3-2. Because the fire was in a rural area, water had to be shuttled in by tender water trucks.

The fire is still under investigation and the total cost has yet to be determined. The shed contained vehicles and other items.

On his last weekend with the Jackson Fire Department after 30 years of service, Assistant Chief Hafemeister (AC) ran this incident as the Incident Commander (IC). Having Hafemeister run this incident as the IC was a great end to his career.
There are not enough ways to thank him for his 30 years with the JFD. Congratulations on your retirement Chief!
