Single-vehicle rollover accident Sunday morning in Washington County

May 7, 2017 – Richfield, WI – On May 7, 2017 at 2:36 a.m. the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a single-vehicle rollover accident were the driver was ejected from the vehicle in the 4000 block of Elmwood Road.

Upon arrival deputies found the sole occupant, a Village of Menomonee Falls resident, 25, had been ejected from the vehicle and was unconscious.

The Richfield Fire Department responded to the scene and immediately requested Flight for Life respond and transport the driver due to serious life threatening injuries.

The initial investigation indicated the vehicle was eastbound on Elmwood Road traveling at a high rate of speed when the vehicle left the roadway striking a retaining wall in the south ditch. The vehicle continued to travel in the ditch line striking a utility pole and then several trees.

This accident remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors.
