Slinger Lady Owls defeat Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes | By Ron Naab

Feb. 3, 2019 – Slinger, WI – The second game of five games in 7 days occurred Saturday evening, Feb. 2 for the Slinger High School girls basketball team.

The Lady Owls hosted the Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes, the only team to defeat the Owls thus far this season.

This was a make-up game after severe weather canceled a game January 18.

Slinger took the early lead and never gave it up.

The score got close with a minute left when the Blue Dukes got within two points with a score of 52 to 50.

The Blue Dukes fouled the Owls; the Owls knocked down free throws to increase the point spread and secure the win 55-50.

Leading scores for the Owls were freshman Kacey Ott with 16 points followed by senior guard Sydney Reinhardt with 11.

Leading the Blue Dukes was senior Alexis Caldwell with 12.

Next up the Lady Owls host West Bend East on Tuesday night, Feb. 5.
