Slinger posts a 2-point victory to advance to WIAA sectionals | By Ron Naab

Feb. 24, 2019 – Slinger, WI – The WIAA regional girls basketball game at Slinger High School was a nailbiter.

Tied at 39 the game between the Lady Owls and West Bend West went into overtime.

Maddison Baker fouled out late into the overtime for the Lady Spartans as did Sydney Reinhardt for Slinger.

Final score was Slinger 44 to West Bend West Spartans 42.

For Slinger, with two seniors feeling ill, Anna Breuer stepped forward scoring 22 points. Many of the underclassmen for the Owls rose to the occasion playing great defense and offense.

Next week the Lady Owls travel to Milwaukee Vincent to meet up with Beaver Dam Golden Beavers.

The Golden Beavers beat Vincent 88 to 38.  Beaver Dam remains ranked in the top 10 in the nation.
