Washington Co., Wi – On Wednesday evening, November 5, 2025, residents of Washington County, WI will have a special opportunity to gaze upon a striking celestial event — the year’s closest and brightest full moon, often called a supermoon.

According to the National Weather Service the moon reaches full illumination at 7:19 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5.
The most dramatic viewing will be the evening of November 5 or into the early hours of November 6, when moonrise occurs just after sunset and the moon sits low on the horizon. That’s when the “moon illusion” often makes it look larger.
If you miss this month’s Supermoon, you’ll be able to catch the next one, the Cold Moon, on December 4, 2025.
