Time capsule buried at the newly-renovated St. Peter Church in Slinger. By Ruth Marks

Feb. 23, 2017 – Slinger, WI – After 8 a.m. Wednesday morning Mass held in the auditorium at St. Peter Grade School in Slinger, Rev. Rick Stoffel led parishioners, grade school children and teachers next door into the recently-renovated church.

The parish’s copper-box time capsule was sealed that morning at the church and then set on a shelf in the wall inside the main covered entryway at St. Peter; the area is referred to as the grand stairway.

A gold-plated plaque was hung gently over the opening.  The plaque, donated by the Knights of Columbus Council read ‘Preserving yesterday. Celebrating tomorrow. This time capsule is lovingly placed by the parishioners of St. Peter congregation.  Slinger, WI’

A tour of the newly-remodeled church followed.  The organ played and all present sang the very first Happy Birthday to 9-year-old Henry Wolf.

There will be a free Open House on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 28 from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. to explore the newly-renovated Church.Guests are free to wander the main and lower level of the Church to see the new capital improvements before the first Mass on Ashe Wednesday, Feb. 29.
