The Addison Town Board has taken action against the use of its roads in the proposed Hartford Norther Reliever Route for trucks. The full board voted to disallow any reliever route to be built upon present Town roads or any portion thereof.
The Town Board made it clear it wanted to save the historic community of St. Lawrence, the buildings (The Little Red Inn) and the church.
Washington County Supervisors and administration are currently working on a plan to reroute heavy truck traffic off Highway 60 and through the city of Hartford.
A current plan under review is looking at the reliever route using Highway K to Turtle Road and turning onto Highway U.
Another meeting is scheduled tonight / Thursday at the Hartford Town Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
