Man trying to cross Pike Lake falls through ice | By Washington County Sheriff

December 31, 2020 – Hartford, Wi – On December 30, 2020, at approximately 12:58 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a man who had fallen through the ice on Pike Lake. He was spotted about 100 yards from the beach.

The following agencies responded: Wisconsin State Patrol, Hartford Fire, Hartford Police, Slinger Fire Dive team, Richfield Fire Dive team, West Bend Fire Dive team, Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies and Dive team, Pike Lake DNR Ranger, and Lifestar Ambulance.

The 65-year-old Town of Hartford man was rescued and brought out of the water. The man was transported to AMC Hartford Hospital, and later transported to Froedtert Hospital by Flight for Life.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the man had been trying to cross the lake.
