Two players from UW-WC named to WCC All-Conference Team | By Jacob Schmick

March 7, 2018 – Washington Co., WI – Meghan MacFarlane and Marissa Kaul  have been chosen to the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference All-Conference team.  Both Marissa and Meghan were selected to 2nd team All-Conference this year.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Meghan was voted in for 2nd team All-Conference because of her offensive ability.  She averaged 12.3 points per game and made at least one 3PT shot in 10 straight games.  She shot 48% from the field and 48% from behind the arc.  During the 10 straight games  she made a 3PT shot, she made at least three 3PT shots in six of the ten games, and in eight of the ten games, she made made at least two 3PT shots.  In addition to her offensive game, Meghan was a leader on the defensive end.  As a guard, she led the team in blocked shots with 1.2 blocks per game, and she was tied for first on the team with 1.8 steals per game.  Meghan was third on the team in minutes played, and she also played every single game this season.

 

 

Marissa, the Captain for the Wildcats, was voted in for 2nd team All-Conference because of her all-around play.  She averaged 9.5 points per game and grabbed a team high 8.3 rebounds per game.  She also shot 51% from the field and 80% from the free throw line.  However, Marissa also competed hard on the defensive side of the ball.  She consistently guarded the opposing teams best player and often was undersized.  In the last five games of the season, Marissa held the opponents best player below their season average in either points per game or rebounds per game.  Also, Marissa was one of the most dependable players on the team.  She lead the team with 33.1 minutes per game, and played in every single game this season.
