Nov. 7, 2016 The Washington County Sheriff is investigating a single vehicle accident that occurred Sunday morning, Nov. 6 at 4:18 a.m. at the intersection of Newark Drive and Lighthouse Lane in the Town of Barton. Â
Upon the deputy’s arrival, he located an unoccupied vehicle in the middle of the Milwaukee River. Neighbors reported observing a male and female arguing on the shoreline after the accident.Â
The investigation determined the vehicle was traveling westbound when the operator failed to stop of the stop sign and negotiate a small curve in the roadway before ending up in the river.Â
The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.Â
