March 4, 2017 – Town of Jackson, WI – Five young people managed to get out when a garage started on fire in the 4500 block of Stoney Creek Road in the Town of Jackson on Saturday morning.

The first call came in just after 10 a.m. Jackson Assistant Fire Chief Duane Hafemeister said multiple units responded from West Bend, Cedarburg, Kewaskum, Newburg, Slinger, St. Lawrence, Fillmore, Germantown, and Richfield.

There was heavy smoke and fire when crews arrived. The fire extended from the garage to the bedroom above. Hafemeister said “there’s smoke and water damage” to other parts of the home. A charred vehicle could be seen inside the garage.

Fire crews had to have water trucked to the scene.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.
