Owner Bob Ott, 48, is a dedicated outdoor enthusiast. A self-described hiker, camper, climber, Ott cannot get enough of bonding with Mother Nature.  “I love the outdoors and I can see myself being a ranger,” he said.

Having recently relocated from California, Ott spent a lot of time hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) which runs from Mexico to Canada. “We were on that trail every weekend,” he said. “During hiking season, we were doing trail magic where we would help hikers coming through the PCT.”

Ott was known to disappear on the PCT on a regular basis. “I’d leave on a Wednesday, grab my pack and be gone through the weekend,” he said. “We were an hour away from the mountains, Joshua Tree and Yosemite. There were so many things to see, and I wanted to see it all.”

Ott has a big vision to encourage the community to adopt an active lifestyle. “I want to hold a meet-up group in front of the shop every morning and we go for a mile walk,” he said. “People don’t want to be alone in these efforts and we can lead that. I want host CPR certification classes, how to properly prep food, can food, and survive in the wilderness. Anything anybody wants, we can offer a class.”
