VIDEO | St. Lawrence FD educates children during Fire Prevention Week

Oct. 12, 2018 – St. Lawrence, WI – Volunteer firefighters at the St. Lawrence Fire House entertained over 150 students from St. Peter School and Allenton Elementary on Thursday morning.

The firefighters quizzed the kids and put them to work during an annual session for Fire Prevention Week.

After a quick session inside the fire house where students learned about tools and turnout gear and whatnot the students headed outdoors for some hands-on activities including listening to the siren, filling a frame-folding water tank, and eventually using the hose to douse a pretend fire.  You can tell by the squeals, a good time was had by all.

There are two more local Fire Prevention Open House events left this week:

Fillmore Fire Department               Open House at their Station on Saturday, October 13, 1:00-3:00 pm

Allenton Vol. Fire Department and St. Lawrence Fire Company    Pancake Breakfast & Open House on Sunday, Oct. 14, 8 a.m.-12 noon at the Allenton Fire Station.
