July 26, 2019 – Town of Polk, WI – A couple musicians from West Bend are part of the band, Slowburn, which is opening for headliner Kings of Chaos tonight, Friday, July 26, at the Washington County Fair.
Slowburn has received recognition on Wisconsin rock stations for its post-gunge hard rock sound.
Seth Dougherty grew up in West Bend. “One of the bands I was in, Elements of Style, played at Jumpin’ Java on S. Main Street,” he said. “We played in Battle of the Bands at the Washington County Fair and at Jansen Family Park. I also remember Mrs. Bonenfant in the library in grade school.”
Luke Vitkus has lived in West Bend about a year.
Slowburn was contacted Monday, July 22 to open for Kings of Chaos at the Washington County Fair.
“We were warming up and Ace Frehley walked by and gave us the thumbs up,” said Dougherty. “He didn’t have to do that, but that guy and Matt Sorum the drummer totally inspired me.”
“Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver, I was a huge fan,” said Vitkus.
Slowburn takes the stage at 7 p.m.
Kings of Chaos starts at 8:30 p.m.
