The Washington County Sheriff is prepping for Tuesday’s arrival of Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump who will be speaking at the Ziegler Building at the Washington County Fair Grounds.
Sheriff Dale Schmidt said, “No roads are being closed but people can expect congestion in the area of Fair Park.”
Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and the event begins at 7:30 p.m. Take note, officials say ‘the event begins at 7:30 p.m.’
It’s unclear when Trump will speak. He is in Milwaukee prior to coming to the Washington County Fair Park. The event at The Pabst Theatre begins at 6 p.m.
There has been some conversation about how Trump will arrive at the Fair Park. Speculation has been, if he lands a plane at the West Bend Airport it would take too long and too much security to drive from E. Washington Street to Highway P and Pleasant Valley Road.
Some neighbors say Trump may helicopter in.. Sheriff Schmidt said, “I cannot disclose transportation plans for security reasons.”
Schmidt said there will be “a large contingent of Deputies on hand” and Sheriff’s will get assistance from a few other police agencies.”
