December 30, 2022 – Washington Co., WI – A 20-year-old Washington County man was killed Wednesday night, December 28, 2022, when the vehicle he was riding in was hit head-on by a pickup truck traveling the wrong way on I-90/94 near Lake Delton.
According to Wisconsin State Patrol the crash happened just before 9:30 p.m.

A release from WSP said the man killed was a passenger in a sedan that was traveling eastbound on I 90/94. The man was one of three people in the vehicle that was struck.
According to Wisconsin State Patrol, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others in the sedan, also from Washington County, were treated at a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Two individuals in pickup truck, which was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes, were not injured.
The 18-year-old driver of the pickup is from Reedsburg. Following a field-sobriety test, the 18-year-old was arrested for operating while under the influence.
The name of the person killed, as well as the names of the other individuals are not being released at this time.
Lake Delton Police Department, Kilbourn Fire Department, Dells/Delton EMS, and Sauk County Highway Department all assisted at the scene.
