September 28, 2020 – West Bend, WI – There was a good chance overnight to test the new Weather Underground at Lac Lawrann Conservancy.
Information is transmitted from the station to Weather Underground and is updated every minute.
The weather station device is located on the shed in back of the barn. It was installed this past Spring.
Paul DeChant is with Lac Lawrann Conservancy.
“We’ve been talking about something like this for a while to help monitor what goes on at the conservancy, helping us track weather conditions and climate conditions just so we can have a better handle on what’s happening. We’re still trying to work out a link to our website.
The location we picked is out of the way and it is high enough to get good readings. It is also an open area so the signal can be easily transmitted to inside the Maurin Center.”
The station will provide current and historical data for the follow measurements:
- Temperature
- Wind speed and direction
- Pressure
- Precipitation
- Solar Radiation
- UV Risk
Historical data can be viewed using a computer.
Weather Underground has an app available for download. Once you download the app, if you want, you can make this station your default weather station to get accurate information at Lac Lawrann and the West Bend area.
