CHILD NEGLECT – 500 Block of North 18th Avenue
On 08/16/16, at 10:41 PM, a resident reported to police that a 6-year-old girl had been left alone in her residence for several hours and the parent could not be located. Investigating officers identified the girl’s mother and located her at her job. Officers learned that the 22-year-old woman worked third shift and had left the child home alone unsupervised on several occasions. The woman was arrested for Child Neglect. The child was turned over to a grandparent.
OPERATING WITHOUT OWNERS CONSENT / HIT & RUN / NO DRIVERS LICENSE
1400 Block of North Main Street
On 08/16/16, at 9:34 PM, a 37-year-old West Bend woman reported her 13-year-old daughter was driving her vehicle without her consent. Responding officers located the vehicle in the front yard of a residence in the 1400 block of North Main Street. The vehicle had crashed into a tree. The juvenile female fled from the scene of the crash but was located a short distance away. The juvenile female driver also struck a garage in a parking lot in the 2000 block of Barton Avenue, drove across several yards, and struck several trees before crossing Barton Avenue. She then drove into the yard of another residence, drove over several bushes and nearly struck a home before returning to the roadway. Officers took the girl into custody for Operating without Owners Consent, Operating without a Valid Driver’s License and 3 counts of Hit & Run Causing Property Damage.
POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS / THEFT / OBSTRUCTING
700 Block of South River Road
On 08/16/16, at 5:41 PM, a 20 year old West Bend man reported he had picked up a friend in the parking lot of an area apartment complex and as they were driving the 18-year-old male friend pulled out a handgun and demanded his money. The man reported that the male then fled the vehicle with his money.
The investigation determined that the 20-year-old man had actually met with the 18 year old West Bend man in the parking lot of the apartment complex, gave the 18 year old man money to purchase Marijuana and the 18 year old man entered an apartment to retrieve the Marijuana, but never returned. The 20 year old man was arrested for Obstructing an Officer.
The 18 year old man was located a short time later in a motor vehicle being driven by his 34 year old mother. The vehicle was stopped and the 18 year old West Bend man was arrested for Theft and Possession of Amphetamines, after he was found to be in possession of an Amphetamine pill. The 34 year old Milwaukee woman driving the vehicle was arrested for a Possession of an Amphetamine after she was found to be in possession of several Amphetamine pills.
BICYCLIST STRUCK BY MOTOR VEHICLE
West Washington Street and Veterans Avenue
On 08/16/16, at 4:34 PM, a 32 year old West Bend woman stopped at a red traffic control signal and then began slowing moving forward when she struck a 17 year old West Bend juvenile riding his bicycle in the crosswalk. The bicyclist was knocked off his bicycle to the pavement causing minor injuries. The woman spoke with the bicyclist but left the scene before reporting it to the Police. The woman was located and issued a citation for Failure to Report the Accident.
