September 8, 2023 – West Bend, WI – The West Spartans varsity volleyball team beat Homestead 3-1 in a hard fought battle on Thursday night.
West won the first two sets, 25 – 20, 25 – 22 but fell short in the third losing 25-20.
The Spartans bounced back for the win in the fourth set 25 – 17.
The team never let up, and their energy was high throughout.
Team leaders Kylee Altendorf with 11 kills and 17 digs, Lindsay Sandleback had 10 kills and 15 digs, Clara Corbett had 8 kills. Maddie Abel contributed with 31 assists.
The team is 2 – 0 in the North Shore Conference and 5 – 4 overall. The next conference match is at home on Tuesday, September 12 at 7 p.m. against Hartford.
About the authors: Abby Stockhausen is a senior middle blocker at West Bend West. She has been playing volleyball for about 8 years. After high school, she plans on going to college to pursue a job in the medical field.
Clara Corbett is a Senior right side hitter at West Bend West. She has been playing volleyball for almost 8 years. After high school, she is going to college to likely pursue a job in the medical field. Abby Stockhausen and Clara Corbett are this year’s captains.
