West secures win against KML | By Ella Henschel

West Bend, Wi – The West Bend West volleyball team showed grit and determination in a hard fought victory over Kettle Moraine Lutheran, winning a nail-biting five-set battle 21-25, 25-15, 25-12, 20-25, 15-12

The match was a back-and-forth battle from the very beginning. After splitting the first four sets, everything came down to the fifth set.

The Spartans dug deep and put everything out on the court.

Senior Nora Cybell, and senior Laila Hertel who were outstanding on the net, hitting powerful and consistent hits that kept KML on their toes.

The Spartans secured a share of the Glacier Trails Conference championship with Port Washington.

The team was led by Laila Hertel with 16 kills and 12 digs.  Emmalee Heniadis had 13 Kills, 18 digs, 3 ace serves and 4 blocks.

Morgan Winkler had 20 assists, 6 kills and 23 digs.  Emy Miller had 3 ace serves and 20 digs. Ella MHenschel added 15 assists.

The Spartans will be playing at home on Thursday, October 16 at 7 p.m. for senior night.
