April 29, 2019 – West Bend, WI – Donald L. Becker, 82, passed away Saturday April 27.

He was born June 17, 1936 in West Bend to Paul and Marie (nee Thelen) Becker and was raised in Newburg. He graduated from West Bend High School Class of 1954. Don served in the US Army from 1959-1961 spending 19 months in Germany. He worked for Tecumseh Products as a tool maker for 42 years, retiring in 1999. On January 20, 1968, Don married Bonnie May Westphal at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg.

Don was a past member of the Newburg Fire Department and International Association of Machinists. He enjoyed spending time with his family. and especially the grandchildren. He loved his trips Up North and taking his ride around the section each day. He enjoyed a good laugh and all the foolishness that followed, playing cards and of course his chocolate.

Don is survived by his wife Bonnie, his children Kelly (Michael) McCurdy and Ken (Brenda), grandchildren Thomas and Kaitlyn (twins) McCurdy, pets Jack, Winston and Chloe, his siblings; Robert (Jeannie), Richard (Dianne) and Michael, his sister-in-law Barb Becker, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Al and Nita Westphal, and brother John.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday May 2 at Holy Trinity Church (521 Congress St. Newburg) with Fr. Kevin Kowalske presiding. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 3 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. Interment will be at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the Newburg Fire Department are appreciated.

The family would like to thank the staff at Samaritan Home for all their care of Don and to the many friends who faithfully visited.
