August 11, 2021 – Town of Addison, WI – On August 10, 2021, at 7:02 pm, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a semi-tractor trailer accident, on I41 southbound, about a mile north of County Highway K, in the Town of Addison.
Deputies responded along with Wisconsin State Patrol, and Allenton and St. Lawrence Fire Departments.
The semi had flipped onto its side, laying across the lanes of traffic. There were no other vehicles involved and the truck driver, an Illinois man, had a minor hand injury.
In order to facilitate towing, I41 southbound was shut down at Highway 33, and remained closed for about two hours.
The incident remains under investigation, however, it is believed the winds from the initial storm which passed through contributed to the accident.
The Washington County Sheriff’s office was notified of multiple hazards because of the storm.
