theatre

Dec. 5, 2016 – West Bend, WI – The downtown West Bend BID Board will move into closed session at its meeting Tuesday, Dec. 6 to discuss the status of the downtown West Bend Theatre and the bridge behind it that runs over the Milwaukee River.

A December deadline is approaching regarding the renovation or removal of the bridge behind the theatre.

The BID put forth a $75,000 surety in 2015 to save the pedestrian bridge that extends from the back of the West Bend Theatre over the Milwaukee River.

That deadline, now a year later, is just a couple weeks away.

Rumors about razing the building or selling the theatre remain hot topics of discussion around town. Building owner Matt Prescott has not confirmed anything at this point.

Tuesday’s BID meeting gets underway at 8:15 a.m. in the council chambers at City Hall.

Other items on the agenda include:

6. board appointments
7. Financial report
8. Parking update
9. DIVA marketing discussion and decision
10. 2017 meeting dates
11. Building light discussion and decision
