WIAA All-Conference from West Bend East and WB West | By Jason Howarth

March 11, 2021 – West Bend, WI – The 2020-21 varsity basketball WIAA All-Conference selections are being announced. Short of a team that wins a state title, all-conference honors are the greatest acknowledgement of individual play in a respective sport.

With eight schools spread across four separate conferences there is no shortage of competition for such prestigious honors, especially in basketball.

  • Aaron Tennies, senior – 2nd Team: Finished with 19.0 points per game this season (sixth in the North Shore Conference) and 398 total points. Tennies got both his 1,000th career point and broke the West Bend West school career scoring record. Tennies also passed the ball extremely well and had great success from behind the arc, making 58 three-pointers this season.
  • Riley O’ Connell, junior – Honorable Mention: Finished second on the team in scoring with 10.1 points per game and 242 total points this season. O’Connell led the team in rebounds with 8.3 rebounds per game and 200 total rebounds, the second most in the North Shore Conference. Girls:

  • Ellie Meurer, senior – 2nd Team: Led the team and was fourth in the North Shore Conference in scoring with 13.2 points game and 291 total points. She made a team best 41 three-pointers this season. Led the team in steals with 57 and finished with the third most rebounds with 106 total rebounds.
  • Isabella Baker, junior – 3rd Team: Baker is third in team and twelfth in the North Shore Conference in scoring with 11.2 points per game and 247 total points this season. Williams made 105 field goals for an even 50% shooting field goals this season. She finished second on the team in rebounds, averaging 6.1 per game and 134 total rebounds on the season. Both Williams and Baker are poised to take over the leadership role vacated by Meurer going into their final seasons next year, but considering their stellar seasons this year it will be hard to top these efforts.
