Allenton American Legion Post 483 hosts brat fry and flag ceremony Memorial Day weekend | By Ron Naab

 

Allenton, Wi – The Allenton American Legion Post 483 will be busy this Memorial Day Weekend.
Saturday, May 23, will be the Allenton American Legion’s annual brat and hamburger fry at Sai Mart Mobil, 750 Church Street, in Allenton, Wi.  Serving hours will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Not only will great food be available, visitors can buy a very attractive 250-anniversary American Legion sign for their yard.

 

On Sunday the Honor Guard for the post will be visiting 8 cemeteries to honor the fallen veterans.

The rotation is as follows:  St. Mathias Cemetery [Nabob] at 8:30 a.m., 9 a.m. at St. Peter’s Cemetery [4930 Beaver Dam Road], 9:30 a.m. Sacred Heart Cemetery [WI-33 east of Allenton], 9:45 a.m. at St. Anthony Cemetery, SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery [7003 WI-175] at 10 a.m., Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery [6430 C.R. D] at 10:15 a.m., and wraps up at 11:15 a.m. at St. John’s UCC Cemetery [5696 Beaver Dam Road].

The weekend wraps up with the Honor Guard at the Slinger Memorial Day parade and ceremony at Union Cemetery.
