West Bend, Wi – Join the Museum of Wisconsin Art to celebrate the opening of The American Landscape: Beyond the Horizon on May 2 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. In conjunction with the 250th anniversary of the US, this timely exhibition draws from MOWA’s permanent collection and select loans to examine how artists have interpreted Wisconsin’s landscape across two centuries—revealing it not just as scenery, but as a source of meaning, identity, and contradiction.

Spanning a variety of mediums, The American Landscape brings historic and contemporary works into dialogue, highlight perspectives from Native voices and immigrant narratives to urgent reflections on environmental change.
Experience this layered, thought-provoking exhibition firsthand, and explore the ideas shaping a deeper understanding of the land we call home.
