Cathy Majkowski starts new adventure after 9 years at Cedar Community

April 7, 2023 – West Bend, WI – A celebration held this week at Cedar Ridge in West Bend, WI as Cathy Majkowski, Director of Sales, moved onto her next adventure.

Majkowski had been with Cedar Community for nine years. She started March 31, 2014 and was praised for her “best-in-class customer service.”

“I’ve known Cathy for over 20 years, and I was always amazed at her skill, compassion, and energy,” said Cedar Community CEO Nicole Pretre. “I’m often asked whether we’re going to hire two or three people replace Cathy.”

“When our former assisted living salesperson resigned after 17 years, the minute she walked out of my office I called Cathy. We got together and there was no hesitation on who I wanted to work with in this capacity and this organization.”

“Your compassion and your love for the people whose lives you’ve touched will be unmatched,” said Chief Administrative Officer Sarah Malchow. “Well done, good and faithful servant, we were blessed to have you.”

 “I want to thank everyone for this amazing time I had at Cedar Community,” said Majkowski. “Last night was the first time I had a stomachache coming to work in nine years and I know it was a testament to this being a real bittersweet day.  You have all impacted me and made my life mission filled and purpose filled, and I hope you will feel my love even after I’m gone.

“Aside from the people in this community, what made it really hard to leave was the most incredible team members that I’ve ever worked with. You guys are in good hands.”

Majkowski recognized her family, including her granddaughter who was one of the primary reasons she decided to make a change.

“She loves people,” said husband Rick Majkowski. “It’s neat to see her moving on to another step in her life.”

Majkowski will be spending quality time with family and she’s planning a pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago.
