February 9, 2023 – Hartford, WI – Staff with the City of Hartford requested the lights surrounding the rooftops in the downtown be turned blue for the remainder of the week in honor of fallen Milwaukee Police Officer Peter Jerving.
Officer Jerving was killed early Tuesday morning, February 7, 2023, in Milwaukee while attempting to arrest a 19-year-old robbery suspect.

Officer Jerving was 37 years old and a four-year veteran of the Milwaukee Police Department.
