April 27, 2023 – Dodge Co., WI – UPDATE – This morning Sheriff Dale Schmidt received a tip as a result of our press release yesterday that Michael Kirk checked into the Holiday Inn Express in Beaver Dam. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Beaver Dam Police Department, and Dodge County Human Services made contact with him at his hotel room. The subject barricaded himself inside his hotel room when contact was attempted at about 9:30 a.m. A Dodge County Sheriff’s Office negotiator used her skills to successfully talk the subject out of his room and the subject was taken into custody peacefully at about 12:40 p.m.
Sheriff Dale Schmidt would like to thank the public for their assistance and the collaborative work of everyone involved.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a Huber inmate walkaway, Michael A. Kirk, date of birth December 23, 1986.
Kirk failed to return from work release as permitted by his court-ordered Huber privilege, and now has an active arrest warrant through Dodge County.
Kirk’s last known residence is in the city of Beaver Dam on N. Center Street.
The sheriff’s office asks for the assistance of the public in providing information to assist in apprehending Michael Kirk.
