Dr. Mark Bosbous honored with St. Joseph’s Hospital’s Excellence in Medicine Award

May 18, 2017- West Bend, WI – Dr. Mark Bosbous, plastic and reconstructive surgeon, has been honored with the fourth annual Excellence in Medicine Award from Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Physicians and nurses at St. Joseph’s Hospital were invited to nominate one of their peers for the award, which recognizes the accomplishments of an individual physician or advanced practitioner at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Nominees were evaluated based on upholding clinical practice standards, leadership, innovation, volunteerism to improve health care in a local community, the ability to communicate with colleagues and staff, and how the nominee supports the hospital’s mission, vision and values.

“Dr. Bosbous demonstrates integrity and compassion in patient care,” said nominator Heather Stack, physician assistant. “He consistently receives patient accolades for going above and beyond, and providing seamless, high-quality patient care.”

Dr. Bosbous holds many leadership positions at St. Joseph’s Hospital, including serving as director of the hospital’s Surgery Clinical Service Unit and board member of the West Bend Surgery Center, and is a member of the Performance Improvement Committee, Medical Executive Committee, Operating Room Governance Committee, Breast Cancer Steering Committee, and Cancer Committee.

Furthermore, he serves as a volunteer instructor for the breast examination portion of Medical Student Physical Exam at the Medical College of Wisconsin, is a MCW Alumni Board Member, is a board member of the Wisconsin Society of Plastic Surgery, is a member of the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Show House Scientific Review Committee, and serves as a mentor for the MCW Plastic Surgery Resident Community and Concordia University Physician Assistants.
