Hartford, WI – The large salt shed located close to Wacker Drive behind the City garage was in need or major repair as the building is over 40 years old and under a great deal of adverse conditions with all of the salt in the building.
Over time, the salt will deteriorate much of the metal and wood structure causing for structural failing. The building was starting to lean when the Public Works Crew took a deep dive into how it could be restored.

After quite a bit of work on the structure with new cables and support beams, the building is now good for another 20+ years.
Because DPW crews did all of the work, it easily saved the City over $100,000 in borrowed funds. DPW Director Darryl Kranz wanted to thank his crew for all of their work in preserving this valuable shelter for our road salt.
