Family in Town of Erin displaced by house fire | By Sgt. Daniel Halpin 

October 12, 2020 – Town of Erin, WI – A family in the Town of Erin was displaced following a Sunday evening, October 11, house fire.

Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to fire

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office a call came in at approximately 8:10 p.m. about a house fire at a single family residence at 5544 County Road Q in the Town of Erin.

The home owner advised an active fire was coming from their basement. All three occupants of the home evacuated prior to emergency responder’s arrival on scene.

Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded along with the Richfield, Hartford, Jackson, and Slinger Fire Departments.  County Road Q between St. Augustine Road and Dieball Road was closed for approximately two hours during the investigation.

There were no injuries to the residents or any personnel on scene as a result of the fire.

The home  sustained significant damage due to the fire, smoke, and water.  Preliminary damage estimates were believed to be around $100,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Richfield Fire Department.
