Some excitement in downtown West Bend on Monday afternoon as a teen from Kewaskum was trying to park and stepped on the gas instead of the brake.  A light pole came to the rescue and saved the storefront window of the new Urban Lyte clothing store.

West Bend police said the accident happened at 200 N. Main Street. The light pole got pushed up into the side of the former Tri County building. Nobody was injured and no citations were issued.

Hat tip an awesome cub reporter who was on scene with her trusty cellphone camera!

West Bend police also had one report of flag vandalism. The call came in this morning for a flag pole that was bent at Hickory and Main. One man said he actually saw multiple flags damaged. Police are still investigating.
