Flash flood watch in effect for Washington County, Dodge and Ozaukee | By National Weather Service

August 28, 2020 – Washington Co., WI – The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch until 7 p.m. for Washington County, Dodge and Ozaukee Counties. Rainfall totals will be collected after this system passes.

 

Portions of east central Wisconsin…south central Wisconsin and southeast Wisconsin, including the following areas, in east central Wisconsin, Fond du Lac and Sheboygan. In south central Wisconsin, Columbia, Green Lake, Marquette and Sauk. In southeast Wisconsin, Dodge, Ozaukee and Washington.

Until 7 PM CDT this evening * Periods of scattered thunderstorms are expected through this evening until the cold front clears. Some areas have already seen several inches of rain over the past 24 hours so any additional heavy rain will be a concern for flash flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to Flash Flooding. Flash Flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
