November 23, 2021 – Fond du lac County, WI – As you may remember, 13 years ago today, three hunters located a decomposed body (Jane Doe) in a creek along Skyline Drive in the Town of Ashford, WI. This location is just east of I41 and north of HWY 28, less than a half-mile from the Dodge County line to the west and a quarter-mile from the Washington County line to the south.
Today we held a press conference to announce we’ve identified our victim as Amy Marie Yeary from Rockford, IL.
“On behalf of the Sheriff’s Office, I want to express our heartfelt condolences to Amy’s family and friends,” Waldschmidt said. “As much as we have been wondering who Amy was for all these years, you have been wondering where Amy is.”
Investigators learned after her identification that Yeary was a victim of human sex trafficking, and had spent time in Chicago, Beloit and Milwaukee, Waldschmidt said.
