Groundbreaking for new education center at St. Gabriel Parish in Hubertus | By Danny Dulak

May 21, 2018 – Hubertus, WI – Saint Gabriel Parish celebrated the culmination of its $5 million campaign with a groundbreaking Sunday morning for the new education center.

The church, located on Highway 164 in Hubertus, titled its campaign ‘Many parts one body.’

The education center will be attached to the church allowing the two facilities to be on the same grounds as in the past.

In April 2018 a letter was provided to parishioners detailing the project:

-This project will unite the Many Parts of the Saint Gabriel body on one campus.  It contains just over 40,000-square-feet of new construction and about 4,000-square-feet of remodeled space.  This expansion will help support and advance the mission of all ministries of the parish: school 4K – 8th grade, religious education, youth ministry, adult faith formation and more.

-Through a competitive bidding process and prudent value engineering, the construction budget is about $6.4 million. Architectural fees, furnishings and fees and permits total about $0.6 million.  And, the Archdiocese requires us to carry a contingency of 5% or about $315,000. These three components bring our total project cost to about $7.3 million.

-The Many Parts, One Body capital campaign is also going very well. Thanks to the generosity of 319 families, $3.75 million has been pledged for this project. Add to that the prior building fund balance plus some existing cash resources of the parish, and over $4.4 million has been committed to this project.

The center is scheduled to open in January 2019 in time for the second semester of Saint Gabriel School.

Pastor Tim Bickel presided over the groundbreaking ceremony along with a group of enthusiastic  parishioners.
