Hartford brush pickup finishes first pass after storms | by Steve Volkert

Hartford City Hall

July 12, 2019 – Hartford, WI – Wednesday afternoon, July 10, street crews finished the first pass through the entire city after the two rounds of heavy storms suffered June 27 and 30. Crews worked many overtime hours to attempt to get the community cleaned up from the many downed trees and branches while still finishing the many other projects regularly scheduled for this time of year. Our thanks to everyone who helped by piling their brush in the correct manner to make our efforts go more quickly. Again, if you are piling brush out on your terrace the first full week of the month as is City rule, please have all the cut ends facing out with the entire branch running the same direction as the traffic in front of your home. These little steps save tens of hours of time for staff as they attempt to pick up the entire city in that first week.

Crews will continue their normal pickup calendar starting the first week in August. Please hold back from placing brush along the terrace until that time or bring your brush down to the recycling center behind the City Garage during normal open hours either Thursday evenings or Saturday mornings.
