City Hall in HartfordJuly 12, 2019 – Hartford, WI – Construction activities have been ongoing since the [Hartford Municipal] airport was closed on June 10. The contractor was moving along with construction activities as scheduled until the rain event on Thursday, June 27. The rain that night, along with the rain received through Tuesday, July 2, has slowed operations. The contractor believes that it will be hard to make the July 12, 2019 deadline of opening the airport and look for a July 19 opening at this point. The first layer of asphalt on the runway has been rolled with the final layer expected to be done this Saturday. Additional asphalt work to the hangers and gas pump will be done next.
