Kewaskum Olympian Jordan Stolz has strong performance in 1000-meter race

February 18, 2022 – Kewaskum, WI – Kewaskum Speedskater Jordan Stolz finished 14th in the 1000-meter speed skating event at the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Stolz finished with a time of 1:09.12.

The winner was Thomas Krol of the Netherlands who secured the Gold Medal with a time of 1:07.92.

The Silver Medal went to Canada’s Laurent Dubreuil who finished in 1:08.32 and Norway’s Haavard Holmefjord Lorentzen took home the Bronze Medal with a time of 1:08.48.

This was Stolz’s second race at the Winter Olympics. He also competed in the 500-meter.

The 17-year-old speed skater has been working the ice since he was five years old. To date, he has broken the 1,000-meter speed skating record at the Pettit National Ice Center in Milwaukee and won the 500m and 1000m events at the U.S. Trials.
Stolz did not secure a spot on the podium in his events but he told Team US Speedskating he is “happy to be competing.”
