In-person absentee voting runs through Friday, February 14


February 14, 2020 – Washington Co., WI – There is a Primary Election on Tuesday, February 18. In Washington County one of the races on the ballot is for State Supreme Court Justice.

Incumbent Judge Daniel Kelly is running against Dane County District Court Judge Jill Karofsky and law professor Ed Fallone. In Slinger, there is one more race on the ballot as there’s a primary election in the Slinger School District. However, one of the candidates has dropped out so

One of the candidates in the Slinger School Board race has dropped out.  Jeff Walter left the race, although not in time to remove his name from the ballot.

According to Washington County Clerk Ashley Reichert, if Walter wins the primary he will advance to the Spring Election ballot on April 7.

The top four vote getters in the Feb. 18 primary will advance to the April 7 election. Voters are instructed to cast a vote for not more than two candidates. Viable candidates include Jen Novotny, David Zukwski, Bruce Hassler and Jody Melius Strupp.

A Community Forum will be held Tuesday, March 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the Slinger Middle School cafeteria. The forum is designed to provide community members an opportunity to meet the candidates and ask them questions about their candidacy.

April 7 is the election to determine who will gain the two seats on the Slinger School Board.


Voters should bring their driver’s license or an official ID to the polls or City Hall if they are attempting to vote in-person absentee before the close of business Friday, February 14, 2020.
