15 fire departments respond to industrial structure fire in Germantown | By Germantown Fire Department

October 4, 2021 – Germantown, WI – At 4:46 a.m. Monday morning, October 4, 2021, the Germantown Fire Department was dispatched to Grant Drive in Germantown for an industrial structure fire. Upon arrival the Battalion Chief, Truck 71, Engine 62 and Ambulance 51 were met with an industrial building in full evacuation with heavy smoke showing with fire on multiple levels.

Upgraded to 17-1-8 “Target hazard” immediately en route due to it being an industrial business and the nature of contents, then minutes after arrival to the first box alarm for additional resources upon information that there was a missing employee who was possibly still in the building. (found safe)
Multiple patients were treated by EMS and fire personnel from multiple departments, a total of five for smoke inhalation, all refused transport.
Command requested the second box level for additional resources as standby and to back-fill the station.
There were also three rescue calls in the village during this time.
We are grateful to all the departments that assisted, a total of 15. Thank you all for your professionalism.
No fire personnel were injured.
