Jordan Stolz makes history again – captures 3rd gold medal at ISU World Speedskating Championships

March 5, 2023 –Heerenveen, Netherlands – Jordan Stolz, 18, climbed atop the podium again for his 3rd gold medal at the ISU World Speedskating Championships. Stolz winning the 1500-meter and he is the first male speed skater to win three individual gold medals at a world single distances championships. Click HERE to watch the 1500-meter race.

On Saturday, Stolz captured his second gold and another World Title at Heerenveen finishing the 1000 meter in 1:07.11.

On Friday night, Stolz made history again and won gold in the 500-meter finishing with a time of 34.10 and set his first World Title on the weekend. Stolz is the youngest world single distance champion ever.  Click HERE to watch the race.

In post-race interviews, other skaters are referring to Stolz as the “Michael Jordan” of speedskating.

Stolz is a native of Washington County, Wi who began skating with his family on the pond outside their home in the Town of Kewaskum.

Stolz competed in the 2022 Beijing Olympics and in November 2022 he earned the title ‘Fastest man on ice’ after becoming the youngest skater to record a time of 1:44:891 in the 1,500-meter race at the World Cup in race in Stavanger, Norway.
