September 19, 2020 – West Bend, WI – West Bend West Spartans JV1 volleyball team defeated the Port Washington Pirates in its first conference match of the season.

The Spartans had strong serves for points and put up a hard, scrappy defense rallying to secure the 3-0 sweep 25 – 12, 25 – 14, 25 – 9.
Leading the pack were Kendra Griffin with 7 ace serves; Gianna Hemauer finished with 6 ace serves and Lindsay Sandleback had 8 kills.
Makenzie Grass made an outstanding play with her foot to keep the ball alive and win the point.
Next match is September 22 at home starting at 5 p.m. against Slinger High School.
