Lac Lawrann bring nature to the classroom at Holy Angels

 Owl7
Holy Angels second graders are learning about animals in our environment through a program offered by the Lac Lawrann Conservancy. Volunteer Pat Carrier recently brought three types of owls (stuffed) to share with the students.  She also provided demonstrations of the different calls of each owl and students learned how to hoot like a Great Horned Owl, a Barred Owl, and a Screech Owl.
One of the highlights of the lesson was the dissection of an owl pellet. Mrs. Carrier provided some insights regarding the owl’s diet and the effect of the environment on the availability of food for animals in nature.
